CAARS 2 ManualChapter 4: Summary |
Summary |
This chapter provides a detailed guide to interpreting CAARS 2 results by paralleling the sequence in which they are presented in the digital report. The process begins with examining the Response Style Analysis, which includes two validity scales (Negative Impression Index and Inconsistency Index) as well as Omitted Items and Pace. In Step 2, the Associated Clinical Concern Items are reviewed. Step 3 moves through the interpretation of the Content Scales, DSM Symptom Scales, and ADHD Index before comparing and contrasting these elements. In Step 4, item-level details are considered, including Items by Scale for the entire CAARS 2 as well as the Impairment & Functional Outcome Items and Additional Questions. The final step is integrating results within a single CAARS 2 report, across multiple raters and points in time. Once these five steps are completed, CAARS 2 findings can be considered as part of a multi-modal evaluation to support or reject a possible diagnosis of adult ADHD.
